Will meet PM for implementation of promises, says AP CM

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said he plans to meet the Prime Minister this month to seek implementation of promises made to Andhra Pradesh during the bifurcation last year.

We will speak to Prime Minister Narendra Modi this month and try to get what is due to us after the bifurcation, he said during a visit to Kurnool district.

Andhra Pradesh was promised special status and several other benefits like substantial financial assistance during bifurcation of the erstwhile undivided AP last year. The ruling Telugu Desam Party and BJP combine have been under attack by the main opposition YSR Congress, the Congress and the left parties, for not delivering on the special status and other promises, even after coming to power an year ago.

Recently, YSR Congress President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy held a one-day protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi in support of these demands made to Andhra Pradesh.

After he came under opposition attack, Naidu had said that he would meet the Prime Minister and union ministers to press for implementation of the promises made to Andhra Pradesh during bifurcation.
