Will fight for farmers' rights: Vijayamma

YSR Congress Party honourary president, YS Vijayamma visited the flood-affected regions around Bheemavaram on Tuesday morning.

She said that the YSRCP will fight till justice is served to the farmers. Vijayamma demanded that the government give at least Rs 10,000 compensation to farmers, whose crops have been destroyed by the downpour.
"YSR wanted to modernise Godavari with an investment of Rs 2,000 crores. However, the project is yet to be completed. Farmers would not face this situation if the project was done," she asserted. People in the region will continue to face problems till the time the modernisation of Godavari happens, she added.
She also said that the government has failed with respect to rehabilitation of those displaced by the rains. She also wondered how the chief minister could sit in Delhi while his region was in dire state!
