In a statement that puts TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in the soup, the leader of party’s Telangana Forum Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Thursday said that TDP will support Telangana bill in the Parliament.
Speaking to the media persons in Hyderabad, he expressed confidence that their party chief Chandrababu Naidu would support Telangana bill enabling the party MPs to vote in its favour, when it is tabled in the Parliament. In the same context, he demanded for the suspension of his party MLA Payyavula Kesav, who contended the bifurcation in Supreme Court, for his anti-party activities. He announced that the unit of Telangana TDP would be set soon. The leaders of Telangana region met in Hyderabad today to review the party situation in the region.
Meanwhile, in another embarrassing situation, Chandrababu Naidu had to be evasive to comment on Centre's all-party meeting on Telangana issue. Caught between the leaders of the two regions with his fence-sitting attitude on Telangana, he deferred to answer.
“I could not respond on it, unless I get letter from the Centre in this regard,” he said. Speculation is rife in the TDP that Chandrababu may skip all-party meeting.
In another incident, Chandrababu faced the wrath of Samaikyandhra supporters during his visit in the flood-hit areas. Scores of Samaikyandhra supporters demanded Chandrababu to raise 'Jai Samaikyandhra' slogans. He faced the wrath of the protesters for his reluctance to the sloganeering.
