Mumbai: In a bizarre incident, a woman from Mumbai enacted a drama of her own kidnap to claim her share in her husband’s income.

According to the police, the woman whose husband run a coaching centre in the city, was obsessed with the feeling that she had been neglected and shortchanged by her husband and was restricted from using money from their income. She thought of a plan to get her share in the income from her husband.

She faked a kidnap and demanded Rs 10 lakhs from her husband. She created a story by telling she was kidnapped by some unidentified persons who were torturing her. She sent pictures and videos of the same to her husband via WhatsApp from a remote area.

A worried husband approached the police, who swung into action and searched all night to find her whereabouts. Finally, police found the woman at Meera Road Station and took her into their custody.

However, during the inquiry, the woman admitted to having faked a kidnap. The police were left dumbfounded. She revealed that she lives with her husband and along with their two children at Vijay Park Road and she only planned her own kidnap drama to get her share from the income of the coaching centre owned by them.

She complained that she had not been allowed to use the earnings by her husband.
