Why were the DCCB polls postponed?

Here goes the facts..........

Reliable sources from several parties in the district have revealed that the internal rift within the Congress Party has made Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy to deliberately postpone the elections.

The District is divided into two groups. On one side, former minister JC Diwakar Reddy wants his brother and former Tadipatri Municipal chairman, J.C. Prabhakar Reddy to grab chairman post. On the other hand, two state ministers— Raghuveera Reddy and Sailajanath—have proposed the name of present DCC bank chairman, T. Kona Reddy.
As the Congress party is divided into groups in the district, the political situation hots up.

It learnt that Kiran Kumar Reddy tried in vain to resolve the issue by holding several meetings. Thus, the government has taken a decision to postpone the DCC bank chairman elections.

Observers feel that this postponement will hugely benefit the JC brothers.

Not only in Ananthapur, it's the same case in Vizag, which is also witnessing differences between party members. Karanam Dharma Sri, who is in the race for DCCB chairman’s post belongs to PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana's camp, while MLA Kannababu's son Suresh Varma is also in race and his name was proposed by minister Ganta Srinivas.

With the apparent rivalry between members in the district, the elections had to be postponed here too, sources say.
