Why should we vote for Congress or TDP? Vijayamma asks public

I came here to share everything with those who have stood by YSR family in times of happiness as well as in distress, said YSR Congress Party honorary president Y.S. Vijayamma.

She was addressing a meeting of party leaders and activists who had gathered in thousands in Vizianagaram on Sunday. She assured the party workers that the YSR family would always stand by them to help them in all possible ways.

Vijayamma said that this local body polls must give a fitting reply to the Opposition's opinion that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party has affection in the public but no cadre. This elections would be a great chance to show our strength and have a chance to build a strong base, she said, adding, the upcoming polls would be an opportunity for party workers to win good posts. The YSRCP honourary president also asked the party cadre to work hard. She said it was important for them to meet people and address their issues on a priority basis.

Expressing confidence that YSRCP will be victorious in the local body polls, she appealed to the party men to work in unison and keep an eye on voters' list as the Congress party would resort to anything to win the elections. She also advised the party workers and supporters not to take trivial issues to heart.

Stating that the colluded Congress and TDP may tamper the process of reservations for SC/STs and BCs, Vijayamma asked them to be prepared to fight legally if required. "With little budget Rajasekhara Reddy had implemented all the welfare schemes without burdening single penny on people. This way the benefits of his schemes reached the needy. But this government has completely neglected them," she said asking why should we vote for this government?

Vijayamma listed out reasons for not voting Congress back to power

Should we vote for not providing free power supply to farmers?
Should we vote for this government whose ruler (Kiran) is busy hopping in and out of Delhi instead of working ways to help farmers?

Should we vote for Congress which has made prices of LPG, power, bus fares exorbitant?

When you call 108 ambulance service in the time of emergency, you often get a reply that there's no diesel in the vehicle, should we vote for a government that has forgotten to improve life-saving procedures in state?

Should we vote for a government that has made 104 service vanish from the roads?

Should we vote for a government which fails to give the poor even 30 kg rice at subsidized price?

Should we vote for a government which has failed to properly implement the fee-reimbursement scheme which had helped educate thousands of students from the poor family?

Vijayamma asked people to contemplate on these questions before casting their vote.
She said: "YSR's golden career in politics continued for 34 years as he had accorded greatest regard to party workers and people who stood by him—the reason why he was considered the leader of the mass. With your support and efforts, he carved a place for himself in the global political map," she said, adding emotionally, "We will always be indebted to all the good will and kind gestures of the people."

The government, now a minority is still functioning because of Chandrababu Naidu. Naidu won the elections in 1978 on a Congress ticket and declared that he would contest against Rama Rao. However, he joined TDP a month after it was launched. Chandrababu's 34 years of dramatic political life is filled with secret deals and plots. He called for a no-confidence motion after Chiranjeevi merged his party with the Congress. But when small parties wanted a no-trust vote to protest against the government's anti-people decisions, he did not even attend the Assembly session. He went to Delhi for the unveiling of NTR statue and suddenly remembered the tainted ministers. Chandrababu Naidu wouldn't mind mortgaging his government to Delhi. He can easily manipulate systems and also the media.

Who stopped Chandrababu Naidu from building a steel plant in Bayyaram mines in his 9-year rule? After 15 years, he is saying he would give free power supply to farmers. It may be recalled that when Naidu was head of state, he had made a statement saying "If free power supply is given to farmers, they would dry clothes on the electric wire." Should we vote for such a person?

For a Rs 10 lakh worth company, IMG Naidu alloted 850 acres of land. For EMMAR, Naidu alloted 538 acres of land in prime area, 110 acres for Raheja, 148 acres and again 18 acres for L&T at throwaway prices.

Naidu's name is involved in several cases—Eluru scam, fake stamps scam, IMG scam and EMMA scam. He is living by getting stay orders from the court. He is criticizing YSR as guilty. Which court has declared him guilty? she asked.
