Telangana Govt Signs MoU For Second Time With Aerocampus Aquitaine; What Happened To First One?

Hyderabad: Why is the TRS government signing agreements that it has already entered into?

A case in point is the signing of Memorandum of Agreement with French firm Aerocampus Aquitaine by the state government on Friday. An agreement was signed with the same French company to "set up an aeronautics training centre at Begumpet Airport" on March 19, 2016. The agreement was signed by Telangana industries department principal secretary Arvind Kumar and Aerocampus Aquitaine general manager Jerome Verschave in the presence of Telangana industries minister Jupally Krishna Rao on the sidelines of the ongoing India Aviation 2016.

Strangely on Friday (January 28, 2017), the state's IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan signed "another agreement" with the same company Aerocampus Aquitaine "to create a world class aero skills academy in Hyderabad".

Interestingly, the French manager of the company on both the occasions is Jerome Verschave. Questions are being raised about how the state government enter into two different agreements with the same company and for the same purpose. Has the administration conveniently forgotten that it already signed an agreement for an aero skills academy?

Even if the 2016 agreement with Aerocampus Aquitaine was a different pact, where is the proposed institute, which was agreed to "become operational in six months with a batch of 300 students". Is the MoU a mere eyewash to show increased investments in the state? Have gullible students being duped by the French firm and the state government?
