Why Did Women Protest In Front Of Balakrishna’s House?

Hindupur: Actor-MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna faced a strange protest from his neighbours, mostly women. No... Not in Jubilee Hills , but in Hindupur, which he represents in the AP Legislative Assembly. He has rented a premise in a swank colony in Hindupur town of Anantapur district.

And why did the women protest? They protested because they are opposed to the setting up of a wine shop in the colony. The shop is right next to Balakrishna's house and the owner of the shop is a TDP leader, who is said to be very close to Balakrishna.

The women staged a dharna in front of Balakrishna's house demanding that the shop be removed forthwith. They also took out a protest rally in the area.

There is a growing disquiet about the liquor policy of the TDP Government, which is allowing wine shops indiscriminately.
