Verdict on Demonetisation: The elections in five states are the first big test of the BJP Government's demonetisation drive. Three of the states going to the polls are from north India, one from Western India and one from the east. Thus, they represent the mood of the nation. Though the BJP has won almost all the civic body polls held in the country post-demonetisation, this is the the biggest test. A victory for the BJP would mean a nod to Modi's demonetisation drive. It will further boost Modi's confidence and one can see tougher measures from Modi.

Modi will become stronger: Winning four states as projected will make Narendra Modi stronger and an absolute authority in the party.

Domination in Rajya Sabha: A victory in four states would mean that the BJP will get more of its members elected to Rajya Sabha and the will soon get a majority on its own. This means the BJP government will have greater felicity in Rajya Sabha and in the event of it coming back to power in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, it will have a majority in both the houses.

Saffronisation Of India: If the exit polls are right, the BJP will be in power in 21 of the states in the country either on its own or with the help of its NDA partners. . This would mean almost a complete saffronisation of the country except for the south India. It might come back to power in Karnataka where the Congress Government is on a downslide.

BJP will get its man as president: Winning four states, as projected by the exit polls, the party will be in a position to get its nominee elected as country's next president. Incumbent Pranab Mukherjee's term would end this year and the presidential elections would be held in July this year. The BJP will have complete control with its nominees as president and vice-president of the coutnry.
