Who closed busy Jagadish Market?

Jagadish Market, a well-known commercial hub of Hyderabad, peddling electronic gadgets, wore a deserted look on Thursday.

There was a curfew like calm in the otherwise busy and bustling hub.

The reason? No bomb threat, no terror alert. The municipal authorities have shut down over 300 shops for defaulting on property tax payment. These shop owners have not paid their taxes for the past two years and did not even respond to the multiple notices served on them.
Civic officials said that they have to recover more than Rs 2 crore from the shops that were force shut on Thursday.
