Podili: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh and YSR Congress Party Chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy strongly criticised Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for bragging about investments to AP, which were not to be seen on the ground. While addressing a sea of humanity at a public meeting as part of the 98th day of Praja Sankalpa Yatra, the YSRCP president questioned Chandrababu Naidu as to where the investments to the tune of Rs 15 lakh crores had gone. During the past two Partnership Summits, the CM had claimed that the state had received Rs 15 lakh crores and that this year too another Rs 4.39 lakh crores had come in to AP as investments, YS Jagan said.

“I just want to find out what happened to Rs 15 lakh crores of investment that came to the state and also the lakhs of jobs promised. These false claims and promises are nothing but cheating the people of the state. With your false claims, the state is being put at loss,” the leader of the opposition asserted at the public meeting in Podili in Prakasam district on Monday evening.

The YSRCP chief also criticised Chandrababu saying that before the elections, Special Category Status (SCS) was considered to be the lifeline for building the state, but after coming to power the CM seems to have changed his stance and claimed it was not a magic cure. “To enlighten him on the importance of SCS, over the last four years we have been conducting dharnas, bandhs, rastha rokos and other kinds of protests. Over the last one week, he seems to have changed his stance and has started demanding SCS for AP,” he told.

Even as everyone was of the opinion that Chandrababu was thinking about welfare of the state, his comments at the Partnership Summit about investment to the state has once again exposed his real side, YS Jagan pointed out. He clarified that if any company had to start a manufacturing unit it had to first obtain permission from the Department of Industrial Policy Promotion in New Delhi. They would also get pollution and environmental clearances only in the national capital, where no such cases for approvals had come up.

YS Jagan observed that all these dramas staged by Chandrababu were meant to cheat people with false claims and take them for a ride. He criticized the AP CM saying that after bifurcation, the state was put to a huge loss, while the CM claims 12 GDP growth. Isn’t this clearly betrayal? Unfortunately he is painting the same picture to the country and the world.

“Even as the farmers were not getting minimum support price for their yield and committing suicides, youth were not finding employment in the state and going to Chennai or Hyderabad in search of a job. Chandrababu claims that the average annual income of a person in the state was Rs 1.22 lakhs. Is this true? Why is he inflating figures and showing it to the world?” the YSRCP chief said, at a public meeting.

He said that the CM was not committed to achieving the SCS and this was the reason he was reluctant to join hands with YSRCP MPs in the Parliament. “If the centre does not yield to our demands, all our MPs will quit. But Chandrababu is not ready to join hands because he is not committed to the welfare of the people of the state,” the YSRCP president pointed out.
