So TiEcon2017 ended it's Silver Anniversary event this past Saturday, May 6.

Invoking the three I's, Imagine, Innovate, Inflect, TiECon2017, to quote the organization's own characterization that it is the 'Word's Largest Entrepreneur Conference,' held a predictably well attended, smoothly run affair.

Founded in 1992 to offer a podium for business, opportunity and skills development, of the Indian diaspora to connect and grow, TiE's signature event TiECon2017, marks twenty five years since the organization's inception.

Commanding in excess of 4500 attendees coming from over 20 countries and
featuring approximately 200 speakers,TiEcon 2017 sought to steer the 'TiE-ship' on a course encompassing, AR/VR-Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality, AI-Artificial Intelligence, IoT-Internet of Things, Drone Technology, FinTech, etc. They sought to bring together representative speakers from companies in the areas the forum chose to spotlight.

TiEcon 2017 did end up depending on the 'usual suspects' Tim Draper of Draper, Fisher, Jurvetson and Vinod Khosla of Khosla Ventures, to offer keynote speeches. These two men have been TiE and TiEcon staples practically since TiE's formation.

The Indian diaspora has without question etched it's imprint unforgettably throughout Silicon Valley and the innovation's it's wrought. TiE perhaps legitimately, stakes a claim to having helped foster some of the inventors and bolster their confidence through it's fundamental value proposition of mentoring. A lot of speakers at current and past TiE events are those who've leveraged TiE for their success over the years and return to share their war stories and inspire a new swathe of entrepreneurs and founders.

TiE continues to evolve and adapt with the newest trends emanating from Silicon Valley and beyond. This is in line with Darwin's theory for all survival to well, survive, "It's not the survival of the fittest or the strongest but those best able to adapt to change.' TiE, like all such surviving entities, aims to match it's onward march with technology's evolving trajectory.
