West Godavari district: Man kills mother-in-law

A man attempted to kill his wife Pochamma at Devarapalli in West Godavai District in the early hours of Saturday.

When the wife's mother Lakshmi tried to save her daughter, Pochamma's husband Ravi launched a deadly attack on her. Lakshmi died on the spot after serious injuries. The condition of Pochamma, who the neighbors shifted to a nearby hospital is said to be critical.

Police suspect family dispute as the reason behind the tragedy. A case has been registered and the police has began investigation.
