Way of bifurcation is unprecedented: YS Jagan

YSR Congress Party President Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy has described the way of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh as unprecedented in the history of the country.

A team of leaders of the party, led by their leader Jagan, has met President Pranab Mukherjee and requested him to stop the bifurcation of the state. He said that the President has heard their concerns patiently.

“In the past, the states were divided with the consent of respective state assemblies only. But, the consent of Andhra Pradesh assembly is not there for carving out the state of Telangana”, said Jagan.

He exuded confidence that the next general elections would be held in the united Andhra Pradesh only. He reminded that the people of Andhra Pradesh had rejected AP Reorganisation Bill – 2013.

Jagan questioned whether the chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy sat for a fast for eight consecutive days at any time in his life.

“I believe in God. We met so many political leaders to get their support in the matter. I believe strongly that all opposition parties will support us for keeping the state as it is now. All political parties will teach a lesson to Congress party which is dividing the state without following the constitutional procedure”, said Jagan.

“I can’t say whether the bill will come to Parliament or not. But, I can say one thing surely. The election schedule is expected within 20 days and the Congress party will have to loss power after the next general elections”, commented Jagan. Replying to a question, Jagan said that they would support the no confidence motion if introduced by any party.
