TRS Heads for Huge Majority in Warangal Lok Sabha By-election

Warangal: The ruling TRS is zooming ahead with over three lakh votes so far in Warangal Lok Sabha by-election by the end of the ninth round of counting.

Congress is trailing behind in second position with 30050 votes and BJP-TDP is in third position with 25450 after five rounds of counting. TRS candidate Pasunuri Dayakar is leading in all the seven Assembly segments under the purview of Warangal Lok Sabha constituency.

The counting for the Warangal Lok Sabha by-election held on November 21 began at Enumamula market in the city at 8am on Tuesday. The ruling TRS was ahead in the first round of counting. The counting will be completed in 22 rounds and the final result will be out before noon. As part of security, Section 144 was imposed at the counting center. Four votes polled through the postal ballot which was counted in the first round came in favor of Congress.

The seat was held by the TRS's Kadiyam Srihari who resigned his MP position to become the deputy chief minister of Telangana. Pasunuri Dayakar is contesting the from the party now. Congress party put up Malkajgiri ex-MP Sarve Satyanarayana, BJP Devaiah and Communists Gali Vinod Kumar. Nalla Suryaprakash from YSR Congress Party is in the fray.
