Vijay’s Mersal Beats Rajini’s Kabali Collections

Illayathalapathy Vijay is on a roll after the release of his latest film Mersal. The film which has the actor donning three characters. Nithya Menen, Samantha and Kajal Aggarwal are the three leading ladies in the movie.

The film raked in a whopping 22 crores on the very first day of its release in Tamilnadu alone. Mersal opened in 3500 plus screens across the world. It's worth mentioning here that Rajinikanth's Kabali had collected Rs 21.5 crores.

Vijay's fans are naturally elated with this as their favorite icon has set a new benchmark in Tamil cinema. Mersal has clearly surpassed the collections of Rajinikanth's Kabali which till now was being seen as the highest grosser.
