YSR Congress Party honorary president, YS Vijayamma kick-started her state-wide tour on Saturday from Chevella in Ranga Reddy district, the place where late chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy started his historic Praja Prasthanam padayatra in 2003. Vijayamma is touring the state to get first hand information on the problems faced by people.
On the way to Chevella, Vijayamma paid obeisance at Mysamma temple in Appa junction. She also launched the YSRCP flag there in the presence of hundreds of party workers and YSR supporters. Vijayamma has reached Chevella. She will conduct rachabanda programme at Chevella today. Scores of people will participate in the programme.
Sharing their woes with Vijayamma, a group of women told her that during YSR's regime, the benefits of the state's welfare schemes reached them. But now they are in miserable state due to lack of access to basic facilities.
They alleged that the present government is offering a kilogram of rice for one rupee but has parallelly increased the vegetable rates. Several senior citizens broke down in front of the YSRCP honourary president while telling her about not recieving pension.
