Vijayamma lambasts Congress rule

In a hard hitting speech in the Medchal constituency, the honorary president of the YSR Congress Party, Y.S. Vijayamma lambasted the Congress government for its failure on all fronts.

She said that farmers who were solely dependent on their crops were now facing a drought like situation and were clueless as to how to save their standing crops in the wake of erratic power supply. Others who had sown seeds were now left stranded even after ample rainfall mainly because of  the acute power shortage.

Industrial units had no option but to resort to a production cut and layoff of workers due to a three-day power holiday. Due to the unprecedented shortage of seeds and lack of procurement price, farmers for the  first time to take a crop holiday. Vijayamma added that nearly 20 lakh daily wage-earners working in small-scale industries have been rendered jobless due to continuous spell of power holidays imposed by the State government. Students also have not been  spared by this government as there is a cap on fee reimbursement  scheme which has now been inflicted on them.

Further she said that handloom wavers were driven to suicides, while the popular  'Arogyasri turned to Anarogyasri'. During the YSR  regime, patients could go to corporate hospitals for treatment. Today, it has become difficult for them to visit even a government hospital as the minimal facilities are not to be found.
The worst hit are those who are over 50 years of age since they are denied the pension under the pretext that they are not fifty years old.
The honorary president of the YSRCP, questioned whether there was any government or governance at all in the light of all these factors.

Speaking on the subject of ministers  who claimed to be afraid of the late Dr. YSR or that they signed files under coercion, she said that they came up with these excuses only when they got embroiled in CBI chargesheets. None of them reacted when Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was arrested on baseless charges although he was not a part of the government as the minister or an officer, nor was he an MP or MLA. It is strange that one minister says that he is willing to open up and speak about everything took place during YSR's regime, while the other says that he was summoned to the Camp office and made to sign. Yet another minister claims that he was  called to the hospital to sign files. All this is being said to tarnish the reputation of the great departed leader who cannot rebut their baseless allegations.

She concluded her  speech by  saying that no development had taken place from the time that YSR passed away in tragic circumstances and appealed to the people to vote the YSRCP to power for a better all-round future.
