Vijay's Mersal has been in the news for more reasons than one. First, it was for showing GST and digital India initiatives in bad light. Then, for its box office collections. Now the film is back into the picture and for all the good reasons. Fans of Illayathalapath would be delighted to know that the film continues to do brisk business at the box office.

The latest we hear is that the movie is going on to shatter all previous records set in Kollywood. If reports doing the rounds are anything to go by, then Mersal has even broken the records of Baahubali 2. Vijay is seen playing three different roles as magician, village man and doctor in the film. He steals the show with his top-notch performance.

The film directed by Atlee Kumar features Kajal, Samantha and Nithya Men in key roles. With Mersal, Vijay has become the second Biggest star in Kollywood after Superstar Rajinikanth.

Mersal movie officially joined the prestigious Rs 250 cr club. Naturally, the film unit is thrilled and basking in the glory of the movie's success.
