Widow, Divyang Tonsured And Paraded With Footwear Garlands In Uttar Pradesh.

Villagers in Kanauj district of Uttar Pradesh resorted to the most despicable act of cruelty while trying to play moral policing. They tonsured a widow and a 'Divyang' (physically handicapped man), put garlands of footwear around their necks, smeared their faces with black paint and paraded them in the streets as a means of punishment. What was the victims' crime? Well, the villagers could not digest the widow being close with the Divyang, who has been lending a helping hand to her ever since her husband died two months ago. The entire episode of the villagers shaming and humiliating the two victims came to light after a few onlookers filmed it and posted it on social media. Police arrested two persons and charged in all eight people for their complicity in the barbaric act.
