Vice-Principal Leaks Question Paper for Son

Kurnool: Vice-Principal Rukmini Devi of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Yemmiganur mandal helped leak the question paper as her son was writing the Intermediate second year examination in the same school.

The incident came to light on March 9 when Assistant Commissioner MS Reddy was reviewing the question paper bundle. He found that one question paper was missing from the bundle. When questioned, the office staff gave in writing that the Vice-Principal took one question paper for her son.

Following an investigation, higher officials suspended her on March 23 and transferred her to Patna region. Meanwhile, Principal Purnachandra Rao has gone on leave from March 26 with another staffer P Srinivasulu taking over as incharge principal. According to some office staff members the Principal has left for Bihar for his suspended wife Rukmini Devi. He did not hand over the office keyes to the incharge principal nor the office staff. Consequently, the teaching and non-teaching have not signed the attendance register since three days.

On receipt of news that media personnel are planning to visit the school, incharge principal Srinivasulu got the office locks broken and ensured that all the staff signed the attendance register. The entire incident reflects on the state of affairs at the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya which has just turned from bad to worse.
