UP governor's dinner meet with RSS chief

In a first, Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik late on Tuesday hosted RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for dinner.

 Bhagwat was closetted with Ram Naik at the sprawling Raj Bhawan for over an hour. While the content of the meeting between the two leaders was not known, sources said the topic of discussion "was largerly Uttar Pradesh".

RSS is holding a key meeting of its provincial organisers and Central Executive Committee In Lucknow from October 17 to 19. In this connection, Bhagwat was in Lucknow and Ram Naik invited him for dinner.

However, Raj Bhavan sources said taht nothing more should be read into the meeting and that there were no political motives behind the meeting. "Association of the two leaders goes back decades and since the two are from Maharashtra, the governor extended a personal invite to the RSS chief," an official said.
