Union minister Kavuri Samabasiva Rao resigns

Union textiles minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao Thursday resigned from the union cabinet, bringing down the curtains on his 30 years of relationship with Congress.

As per reports, the businessman-turned-politician met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Thursday and submitted his resignation. Reportedly, he is still nursing a grudge against the party for masterminding state bifurcation.

Sources added that the five time MP is all set to join BJP and has held discussions with BJP national president Rajnath Singh.

Speculations were rife that he would join TDP. However, in TDP he faced stiff opposition from TDP leaders in Eluru.
