Union Budget: AP To Get Rs 34,000 Crores And Rs 19,000 Crores For Telangana

The Central government allocates certain amount from the central taxes to each state.

New Delhi: The Union Budget announced on Thursday allocates Rs 33,929.84 crores for Andhra Pradesh as part of the state's share of the Central taxes. The amount stands at 19,207.43 crores for Telangana.

It may be recalled that each year, the Central government allocates certain amount from the central taxes to each state. The 14th Finance Commission, in the current year, earmarked 42 percent of that collected tax to be distributed to the states as their share.

The following is the break-up of the share that AP and Telangana are allocated.

Andhra Pradesh

  • Corporate Tax - Rs 9,526 crore
  • Income Tax - Rs 8,430 crore
  • Central GST - Rs 10,919 crore
  • Customs - Rs 1,671 crore
  • Central Excise - Rs 1,628 crore

When compared to 2016-17, the total is a deficit of Rs 849 crore

Telangana

  • Corporate Tax - Rs 5,381 crore
  • Income Tax - Rs 4,772 crore
  • Central GST - Rs 6,181 crore
  • Customs - Rs 946 crore
  • Central Excise - Rs 946 crore

When compared to 2016-17, the total is a deficit of Rs 481 crore
