Unemployed B Tech Dropout Touches Transformer, Ends Life

Gundaji Harish (23), who was living with his family on Varni Road in Nizamabad down for the past few years, was depressed as he could not get a job. Harish dropped out of his BTech course due to financial constraints.

Nizamabad: Depressed over not landing in a job, a 23-year-old college dropout ended his life by touching the live wire of an electrical transformer. The shocking incident occurred in Nyalkal X Roads in Nizamabad district on Wednesday.

Gundaji Harish (23), who was living with his family on Varni Road in Nizamabad down for the past few years, was depressed as he could not get a job. Harish dropped out of his BTech course due to financial constraints.

Since then, he had been trying to get some job so that he could support his father Gundaji Bhoja Rao, who lives in Binola village of Navipet mandal. He attended several interviews and approached several persons for job. But, he was turned back everywhere.

On Monday, Harish had his dinner with his family members and slept. The next morning, the family members woke up to find Harish missing. Initially, they felt he may have gone for a stroll. However, they were jolted when they received a call from the police that Harish was found dead at a transformer located near the petrol bunk at Nyalkal X Roads. SI Srihari said that the Harish committed suicide by touching the power transformer. A case has been registered and investigation is on.
