In yet another heinous crime against women, a woman was gangraped by some auto-rickshaw drivers in Rajahmundry.

According to reports, locals noticed the woman lying in a semi-conscious state near the RTC complex and rushed her to a nearby hospital. Her condition is said to be critical.

A case has been registered and police have launched a hunt to nab the culprits.

In a similar incident, a 30-year-old mentally unsound woman was allegedly gangraped by two auto drivers in Jeedimetla area in Hyderabad, police said today. The incident occurred on July 20 night at a residential colony, police said quoting locals and eye-witnesses who claimed to have seen the two men bringing the woman in a auto-rickshaw to the premises.

The locals found the woman crying and brought the matter to the notice of police. The woman, who is unable to tell anything about the incident, seems to be mentally unsound. She has been sent for medical examination and a rape case has been booked, said sub-inspector Nagaraju of Jeedimetla police station. He said efforts were on to trace the duo.
