Ever since the finance minister announced an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for Andhra Pradesh, two ministers are fighting over the likely venue of thinstitution.

While Guntur's Prattipati Pulla Rao wants it in his district, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao feels Krishna is the best claimant for the institution.

After bifurcation, the Central Government has allotted some key institutions and research centres to cities like Kurnool, Tirupati, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. Similarly, the government is trying to establish a super-specialty hospital in Vijayawada.

Pulla Rao is asking for establishing the key institution in Mangalagiri in Guntur district only. As per the sources, Chandrababu is also in favour of the argument of the minister. A Central team will also visit the area soon to observe the area.

On the other hand, Devineni is also pressurizing the chief minister for establishing the AIIMS in Vijayawada only.
Devineni feels the image of Vijayawada will improve if the institution is established in the city.

With this, cold war is 'hotting' up between the two ministers.
