TV Reporter Stabbed For Social Media Comments Against Ruling Party Leaders

Eluru: A journalist was stabbed by unidentified assailants at Palakollu late on Tuesday night.

Local Express TV reporter Ravi was allegedly threatened by local TDP leaders after he posted some criticism on social media. His family suspects the ruling party leaders attempted to kill him as his social media post, which are against them. As he regularly keeps posting comments against the ruling party and the leaders, they had warned with dire consequences before.

The state president of Working Journalists Union C. Krishnanjaneyalu and general secretary M. Vamsi strongly condemned the attack on Ravi. They demanded the arrest of the accused immediately. If anyone has any objections on any news story, they can complain to the Press Council, they said adding that attacks on journalists will not be tolerated in future.

"It is not fair to attack a journalist in the name of news," they said.
