'TTD belongs to Andhra Pradesh'

Officials of state government are planning to settle the division of properties between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as soon as possible.

They are doing their exercise to divide all the properties belonging to united Andhra Pradesh between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

However,the higher officials have issued a GO stating that Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), located in Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh, belongs to Andhra Pradesh only and it can’t be divided.

“Neither can the funds or properties of TTD be divided between the two states,” said the officials clearly in their GO.

The Tirumala temple is one of the largest revenue earning temple in the world. The main deity here is Lord Venkateswara.

A senior political leader in the state is nominated in the post of chairperson of TTD. Some MLAs and others are appointed as its members. The IAS officials are posted in the posts of Executive Officer and Joint Executive Officers of TTD.
