Hyderabad: In the wake of EAMCET- 2 question paper leakage scam, Telangana government is planning to move Supreme Court seeking an extension of the deadline for the admissions into MBBS and BDS, the Medical Education Minister Dr.C Laxma Reddy said on Thursday.

The state government is to ask the apex court for another one month of time to meet the September 30 deadline for the medical admissions as mere the announcement of the results would take at least 10 to 15 days.

The examination of EAMCET-3 is scheduled on September 11 and the Medical Education Ministry is thinking to complete the entire procedure including counseling by the end of October. The officials said, even if the deadline is extended to October 15, all the rounds would be done maximum.

As the question paper of EAMCET-2 examination, conducted for the medical courses, was leaked, the state government was forced to reconduct the exam in next month and the whole process including admissions should be completed by September 30, ruled by Supreme Court.

The Minsiter said, “We want to seek extension of the deadline by a month due to the cancellation of EAMCET-2 because of the question paper leak.”
