TS Hikes Staff DA, Rs.100 Crore Burden Monthly on Government

The DA of government employees has been increased to 18.340 percent from 15.196 percent

Hyderabad: The Dearness Allowance (DA) of government employees has been hiked by 3.144 percent of their basic pay. The Telangana State government took the decision to this effect on Thursday.

With this increase, nearly 3.50 lakh employees in public sector and 2 lakh pensioners in the state will be benefited. The hike will come into the effect from January 1 of next year. By the latest decision, the DA has increased to 18.340 percent from 15.196 percent and the state government will have to bear the extra burden of Rs. 100 crore per month.

Following the agitation from the TS Employees Association for the increase of their DA which had been put in pending for 8 months, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had directed to the finance department regarding the issuance of the orders to this effect. Generally, the revision of DA by the government is done in every six months.
