TRS shuts doors on tie-up with Congress

Putting an end to the speculation on the possibility of an electoral alliance between the Congress and the TRS, AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh on Saturday said the Congress was very happy that KCR had closed its doors for an electoral alliance with it.

Speaking to the media in New Delhi, Singh said that the party’s candidates for the Lok Sabha polls from Telangana had been finalised by the Congress Central Election Committee.

‘’The committee will meet again in a day or two to finalise the names for the Assembly seats. After that we will start shortlisting the party candidates from Seemandhra,” he said.

He also said that the number of seats to be allotted to the CPI as part of the seat-sharing deal were being finalised.
