TRS MLC must be Chairman of council : Amos

Senior leader and MLC K.R.Amos advised the Congress Party to give the post of chairman of Telangana Legislative Council to TRS only as it is the ruling party.

“The Congress Party may have majority of MLCs in legislative council.

But, it is not proper for Congress to have an eye on the post. Congress  should follow the tradition of giving the posts of Speaker of Legislative Assembly and chairman of Legislative Council to ruling party only,” opined Amos.

He said that all the MLCs of Telangana should take oath again.

“Earlier they took oath as AP Council members. As Telangana is formed now, all of them now have to take oath as Telangana Council members,” said Amos.

“AP Reorganisation Act 2014 specifies that Deputy Chairman of council will act as the temporary chairman of Telangana legislative council. So, he would administer the oath taking ceremony of all the MLCs,” said Amos.
