Hyderabad: A TRS leader was arrested on Tuesday for stabbing a man to death who sexually exploited the former's daughter Anusha Reddy.
The accused Shyam Sundar Reddy is a TRS leader from Saidabad who along with his four accomplices killed G. Rajesh (32) at Mitra bar in Turkayamzal on Monday night. As Rajesh came out of the bar with his friend Yugandhar, Reddy attacked him with knives. Rajesh died on the spot and the accused fled the place before Yugandhar could alert others.
A murder case has been registered against Reddy and his associates under section 302 of the IPC and they have been taken into custody.
Police said that Reddy resorted to murder to take revenge of his daughter's death who was cheated by Rajesh. Anusha ran a boutique, who got married to Rajesh at Hanuman temple in LB Nagar in 2014. However, she later realized that Rajesh cheated her as he was already married twice.
She filed a complaint against Rajesh who was later arrested by Chaitanyapuri police in 2015 but was released on bail. Anusha was upset that the accused was moved freely. Disturbed by the development, Anusha ended her life by jumping into Nagarjunsagar when she was out on a picnic with family.
Ibrahimpatnam ACP S. Malla Reddy said , “After her death Rajesh was booked under PD act and was put behind bars for over a year. He came out of prison in 2016 and Reddy was on wait for his release to kill him.”
The deceased Rajesh headed the management committee of Hanuman temple in LB Nagar and already had 10 criminal cases filed against him.
