TRS demands CBI probe into Polavaram tenders

TRS leader Harish Rao on Tuesday demanded CBI inquiry into the Polavaram Project tenders.

Terming Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy as "nasty CM", Harish Rao said he had dampened the spirit of democracy by finalising the contract of Polavaram project to Transstroy, which filed the tenders with forged documents. 

The MLA from Siddipet said he would move to the court if the Government failed to order for a CBI probe. The nation's pride was at stake as the Government engineers' team which had visited Russia enjoyed the facilities provided by Transstroy. He challenged that he has enough evidences about the team's trip and luxury stay and offered the CM to come for an open debate. He, however, said the TRS would raise the issue in the Assembly.
