Ironically, his body was carried by the locals on a makeshift bed bringing back the memory of how an Odisha tribal man had carried his wife’s body a year ago.

Bhupalapalle: In a shocking incident, a tribal man died after he was deprived of proper medical aid. Ironically, his body was carried by the locals on a makeshift bed bringing back the memory of how an Odisha tribal man had carried his wife's body a year ago. The incident took place at Kamalapuram Tribal agency of Mangapet mandal in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district on Sunday.

Although such incidents are not unheard of in rural areas, the government's dream to provide free medical care to all appears to be a far-fetched one.

According to new reports, the victim has been identified as Madakam Jogaiah. The 50-year-old, who belonged to Gothikoyala tribe in Kamalapuram, had been suffering from illness for the past one month. Family members along with the locals decided to bring him to Jolekatti, 5 km from Kamalapuram for treatment. Jogaiah died on the way. The villagers were forced to carry the body on a makeshift bed as there was no hospital or PHC in the area.
