Hyderabad: In view of the New Year festivities, the city traffic police will close NTR Marg, Necklace Road and Tank Bund along with Mint Compound lane adjacent to Secretariat from 10pm of December 31 to 2am of January 1. All flyovers will be closed to traffic. People can celebrate New Year’s eve with friends on Tank Bund but vehicular movement will not be allowed.

Extensive checks will be conducted to curb drunken driving, rash driving, speeding and triple riding on two-wheelers among other traffic violations. Traffic will be diverted at Hussainsagar and surrounding areas as given here:

Traffic from VV statue towards Necklace Road and NTR Marg will be diverted towards Khairatabad and Raj Bhavan Road.

Traffic from BRK Bhavan towards NTR Marg will be diverted towards Iqbal Minar, Lakdikapul, Ayodhya.

Traffic from Liberty towards Secunderabad will be diverted at MCH Office Y-Junction towards BRK Bhavan, Telugu Talli, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Lakdikapul and Ayodhya.

Traffic from Khairatabad Market towards Necklace Rotary will be diverted at Khairatabad towards Meera Talkies lane.

Traffic coming from Nalla-gutta railway bridge side will not be allowed towards Sanjee-vaiah Park and Necklace Road and will be diverted towards Karbala Maidan or Ministers’ Road.

Traffic coming from Secunderabad will be diverted at Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda X-roads, Lower Tank Bund, Kattamaisamma temple, Ashoknagar, RTC X-roads. Buses, lorries and heavy vehicles will not be allowed in the city limits till 2am on January 1.
