Traffic restrictions for New Year's eve in Hyd

As you get ready for your New Year's Eve celebrations and plans to go out on Monday night, the police have imposed traffic restrictions on some roads.

Vehicular traffic will not be allowed on the NTR Marg, Necklace Road and Upper Tank Bund from 10 pm to 2 am on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. Therefore, the vehicular traffic coming towards these routes will be diverted to alternate routes.

According to traffic police, restrictions are needed to ensure public safety as a large number of people throng these roads of  Hussain Sagar  on the new year's eve.

The traffic police have made elaborate arrangements for smooth flow of traffic throughout the city on New Year's Eve.

Traffic restrictions and diversion

 

  • Vehicles coming from VV Statue to NTR Marg and Necklace Road will be diverted towards Khairatabad and Raj Bhavan Road.
  • Vehicles from BRK Bhavan to NTR Marg will be diverted towards  Lakdi-ka-pul, Iqbal Minar and Ayodhya Junction.
  • Traffic from Liberty Junction to Secunderabad  will be diverted at the GHMC office ‘Y’ Junction, towards BRK Bhavan, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Lakdi-ka-pul and Ayodhya.
  • Traffic coming from Khairatabad Market towards Necklace Rotary will be diverted at Khai­rat­abad towards Meera Talkies lane.
  • The Mint compound lane adj­a­cent to the Secretariat will be clo­sed for general vehicular traffic.
  • Motorists coming from Nallagutta railway bridge  will not be allowed to  Sanjeevaiah Park and Necklace Road and will be diverted towards Karbala Maidan or Minister Road.
  • Traffic from Secunderabad to Tank Bund will be diverted at Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda Crossroads, Ashok Nagar,  RTC Crossroads and Lower Tank Bund, Kattamaisamma Temple.

All the flyovers will be closed for movement of traffic at 10 pm on December 31  till 6 am on January 1.  Police will also carry out a alcohol tests on drivers vigorously.
