Traffic Home Guard Caught On Cam Taking Bribe; Fired
Hyderabad: A traffic police official has come under fire after a video of him taking a bribe has gone viral. The video shows M. Satya Vishnu, a home guard from the Narayanaguda traffic police station, taking bribe from the owner of a two-wheeler.
The incident occurred on March 17 at Himayatnagar junction and was posted on Hyderabad traffic police Facebook page by one Sridhar Vemula.
In a response to the video, the Hyderabad traffic police assured disciplinary action against the official. “Action will be taken and he is being removed from the traffic department and disciplinary action will be taken as per rule," Hyderabad traffic police post on Facebook.
A senior traffic police official said the home guard had been surrendered to the Home Guards headquarters and process of removal from service had been initiated.
