Tractor driver drove the school bus!
The person who drove the ill-fated school bus, which rammed into a speeding train at Masaipet in Medak on Thursday, was not a regular bus driver.
He was a tractor driver and drove the school bus only because the regular driver did not report to duties.
In the original driver's absence, the school management asked Bikshapathi, a local tractor driver, to drive the school bus.
Bikshapathi grossly miscalculated the train speed and tried to cross the tracks only to meet a tragic end.
There were 38 students in the bus at the time of collision. As many as 13 students died on the spot and seven students died in the hospital while undergoing the treatment. 15 more students were seriously injured in the accident.
Only three kids could survive in the accident. They escaped completely unscathed.
