Top AP leaders throng Delhi Durbar over Telangana

Seemandhra and Telangana Congress leaders are lobbying in Delhi. Union Ministers from Seemandhra region met at Prakasam hall in AP Bhavan to discuss the strategy to bring pressure on the Congress High Command.

Out of nine union ministers, four attended the meeting. Chiranjeevi, J.D. Seelam, Pallam Raju and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao attended the meeting while Killi Krupa Rani, Panabaka Lakshmi, Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy, Purandeswari and Kishore Chandra Deo gave the meeting a miss. Kishore Chandra excused himself from the meeting citing ill health. They have decided to submit a memorandum to AICC president Sonia Gandhi in support of a unified state.

Meanwhile, Congress MP K V P Ramachandra Rao met in-charge of party affairs in state, Digvijaya Singh. It is learnt that CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana and Deputy CM Damodar Raja Narasimha will meet Digvijaya Singh and other top leaders at the war room of Congress party.

Kiran Reddy will first meet the Delhi top brass and then be joined by the PCC chief. The three top leaders are all set to present their views at the mini core committee meeting once again. CM Kiran is expected to make his presentation followed by Botsa Satyanarayana. It is learnt that Kiran is carrying maps with him.

According to AICC sources, the Congress top brass is likely to give a clear indication on its stand over the contentious issue to the top three leaders of the state today.

The latest we hear is that the AP chief minister has finished presenting his views to the meeting. It is learnt that Kiran's presentation lasted for 45 minutes. Then it was the turn of PCC chief Botsa to take over.

PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana, whose presentation lasted for over 40 minutes told the media after the meeting that the CWC will soon meet to take a call on the Telangana issue.

Deputy CM Damodar Raja Narasimha made a 90-minute presentation before the meeting a few minutes ago. Damodar's presentation touched upon division of state, it is learnt.

According to sources the high command is heading  towards bifurcation of the state. The core committee meeting is scheduled to be held at 5pm today.
