Veteran Tamil Actor Visu Passes Away

HYDERABAD: Meenakshisundaram Ramasamy Viswanathan, popularly known as Visu died in Chennai on Sunday. He was 75 and was suffering from age related ailments from quite a few days. Visu was one of the most talented television and film personalities. He forayed into film industry as an assistant director to K Balachander. He penned dialogues for various films like Netrikann, Thillu Mullu, Nallavanukku Nallavan and Mr Bharath. With the film, Kudumbam Oru Kadhambam, Visu proved his acting skills as well.

Many celebrities from the film fraternity poured in condolences for the veteran actor. Filmmaker SP Muthuraman said that Visu was not only known for classy and family films but he was equally talented in penning mass dialogues for commercial films as well.

Visu was well known for his debate show, Arattai Arangam which used to air on Sun TV on Sunday morning. The show was successfully aired on TV for over 15 years and later Visu also conducted the Visuvin Makkal Arangam show on Jaya TV for a few years. Visu not only won the hearts of Tamil people but he was dear to Telugu people as well.
