Mahanati opened to rave reviews from general public and film critics. The film was directed by Nag Ashwin. The film featured Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha and Vijay Devarakonda in lead roles.

The film chronicles the life of South Indian actress Savitri who ruled the industry in the 50s and 60s. Keerthy Suresh's performance in the movie has come in for immense appreciation.
