Hyderabad: The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is indulging in wasteful expenditure which is becoming its hallmark, YSRCP senior leader Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, he said the list of excessive expenditure by the TDP government is increasing each day since it took office almost three years ago. "In the three years of TDP rule the state's debt have crossed Rs 2.16 lakh crores," he said. Illustrating several instances of unwanted expenditure he said the AP Aviation Corporation was sanctioned Rs 14.37 crores. Most of the helicopters hired by the Corporation are under-utilised resulting in unnecessary expenditure. "The coal supplied to AP Genco is of inferior quality resulting in losses to the electricity generation company. The CAG has recently pointed out the mismanagement in power generation and distribution by the AP government. Yet, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is claiming that AP Genco has won national awards which is laughable," Rajendranath said.

The YSRCP MLA also pointed out at the hollow promises of the chief minister and his wasteful expenditures regarding the new capital city. Tall promises were made regarding the new capital and that multi-national corporations would design and develop the new capital city, Rajendranath said and added that the CM zeroed-in on a movie setting for the capital city design. The MLA concluded by stating that the TDP government should focus on administration rather than on making false promises and wasteful expenditures.
