New Delhi: BJP official spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao fired a salvo at Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu by saying that there was nothing called sacrifice in politics. In an interview to Sakshi he said during the last elections TDP chief came asking for an alliance with BJP. "Sensing that the Modi wave was sweeping the country, he insisted on TDP-BJP alliance. Now the break-up was a pure political ploy of Chandrababu" he opined.

The BJP spokesperson alleged that till few days ago the AP CM had accepted for Special Package and added that having seen the momentum among the general public for Special Category Status (SCS) to AP, he started chanting the same. A person who had welcomed Special Package citing benefit for the state, was now talking about SCS, he said "it was surprising and only exhibited his double standards."

Narasimha Rao asked, "Chandrababu after having known all the central ministers and having good rapport with the NDA government, what were the beneficial things that you did for the state? Why have made 29 trips to the country's capital, is it not for the benefit of the state?"

He pointed out that when the whole country was sanctioned 25 lakh houses, out of them eight lakh houses were dedicated to AP. The NDA government had approved special concessions for industries to be established in backward districts of AP, Narasimha Rao pointed out and said that the government had given unprecedented support to AP, which was being discredited by TDP.

"There was no demand for Kadapa Steel Plant and Visakhapatnam Railway Zone. But we have mentioned that it was also being considered. Till date around 80 per cent of the issues mentioned in the AP Bifurcation Act have been addressed," he informed.

The BJP Spokesperson mentioned that it was unfair on the part of Chandrababu to criticise NDA after having been its alliance partner for four years. He blamed that the demand for increasing the number of assembly seats was only to gain a political mileage. He asserted that BJP would become the single largest party in AP without anybody's support. BJP is capable of winning elections under any dire circumstances and will definitely win in AP, he said.

"After having given a national status to Polavaram project, the central government has released 80 per cent funds. But without any information the project costs have been increased double-fold and the state government is not giving funds utilization certificates of the project. This itself will tell about the way the government was functioning," he observed.

Narasimha Rao hit at TRS also and said that political fronts that have been formed for personal gains would never be successful. He pointed out that the people in both the Telugu states - Telangana and Andhra Pradesh - are disappointed with their ruling governments.

On a question about YSRCP Vijayasai Reddy's meeting with Prime Minister, the BJP Spokesperson said that there was nothing wrong in him calling upon PM. "For that matter anybody was free to meet the PM."
