YS Jagan’s Announces Roadmap For Development Of Andhra Pradesh

Guntur: YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced to tour the state on foot (Padayatra) from October 27th. He would be covering 3,000 kilometers over a period of six months. The padayatra will start from Idupulapaya of YSR Kadapa district where late YSR was laid to rest.

The party chief also announced a nine-point agenda that the party will implement immediately on assuming charge after the victory in the 2019 Assembly elections.

The Agenda as announed by YS Jagan:

1. YSR Rythu Bharosa: To sanction Rs.12,500 per year to the farmers who own less than 5 acre land for four years. Cumulatively the benefit to each farmer would be Rs.50000 under Rythu Bharosa scheme. This will benefit 86% of total farmers in AP (66 lakh farmers in number). A fund of Rs.3000 crore would be setup to stabilise the prices of farm produce.

2. YSR Asara Scheme: The loans of 89 lakh DWCRA women beneficiaries will be waived in four stages. New loans will be given to the women at zero percent interest.

3. Pensions: The YSRCP will hike the old age pension to Rs 2,000 from the current Rs 1,000. The hike will be applicable to widows and physically challenged people.

4. Amma Odi: To prevent dropouts in schools, the YSRCP announced financial assistance programme. Students from class 1 to 5th will get Rs 500 per month and the amount will be Rs 1,000 for two children from the same family. For class 6 to 10th, the amount will be Rs 750 and Rs 1,500 for two children. Similarly intermediate students will get Rs 1,000 per month. The amount will be given directly to the mother of the students and not deposited in banks.

5. Housing Scheme: 25 lakh houses will be constructed. Registration of the house and handing over to beneficiary will be done on the same day. The beneficiary can mortgage the house for a loan with 25 paise interest.

6. Arogya Sri: Revival of Arogya Sri health scheme with additional funds. Special pension for patients suffering from kidney ailments.

7. Fee Reimbursement: Entire fee engineering course will be borne by the YSRCP government. Each student will be paid Rs 20,000 per annum for hostel expenses.

8. Jala Yagnam: YS Rajasekhara Reddy government completed 80 percent of irrigation project works. The remaining 20 per cent of irrigation works were neglected by the TDP regime. Those will be completed by the YSRCP. They include Polavaram, Handri Neeva, Vamsadhara and Galeru Nagari project.

9. New Liquor Policy: Liquor prohibition to be introduced in three stages. In the first stage the number of wine shops will be reduced in each constituency, in the second stage liquor prices will be hiked and media campaigns against ill-effects of alcohol will be increased and in the third stage liquor sales to be restricted only to five star hotels. Legislation will be made to punish those who manufacture or sell liquor with seven year imprisonment.
