Groom Who Thrashed Newly-Wed Wife Was Impotent: Nannapaneni Rajakumari 

Chittoor: The man who thrashed and disfigured his newly-wed wife on their first-night after their wedding was reportedly impotent and he attacked the woman as she learned of the harsh truth, reports said. Rajesh, who was a teacher a government school, was arrested and faces suspension from his job too.

On Monday, AP Mahila Commission chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari visited the victim at the hospital where the victim is undergoing treatment and in a critical condition. Rajakumari assured her of all the assistance and support to lead a normal life. Shailaja appealed to Rajakumari to provide security for her life as she feared that Rajesh would kill her. She now wants to complete her MBA which will be completed in the next three months remaining. Rajakumari also promised Shailaja of a suitable job after the latter finishes her degree.

It may be recalled that Shailaja was thrashed mercilessly by her husband on their first night requiring her to be rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.

Rajakumari asked the police to book Rajesh for cheating as he married the girl by claiming to be fit despite the fact that he was an impotent. Medical tests are being conducted on the accused to ascertain his impotency.

The incident took place on Friday in Motharangannapalli of Gangadhara Nellore mandal. Parents of Shailaja heard cries for help from her room. Her father, Muni Krishna Reddy and the relatives broke open the doors of the room where they found Shailaja with severe injuries and a swollen face. On seeing the bride's father, the bridegroom, Rajesh fled the scene but was later arrested by the police.
