Chimakurthi: 11-year-old Prabha had been waiting for more than half a day near Chimakurthi on the Podili road braving the scorching heat. She was waiting to catch a glimpse of YSR Congress party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on day 100 of his historic Praja Sankalpa Yatra.

She learnt that the padayatra was its way from Uppalapadu of Markapuram constituency. Soon she joined a long queue of women and others who wanted a selfie with the Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly.

YS Jagan, who has been moving briskly in the mid-day heat, paused there a few minutes to oblige every single person including Prabha. And then the padayatra moved past Chimakurthi.

Chinnakka has been waiting, similarly, by the road from her village near Uppalapadu. She walked all the way to Chimakurthi in the sizzling heat, to see YS Jagan. When she went to greet him, he met her with great warmth and a cheerful face.

"I could not meet his great father, but in meeting YS Jagan, my dream is fulfilled. I hope and pray that with god's grace he become the chief minister of our state."

The girl replied "selfie". The toothless old woman smiled and said, "Yes I too would have wanted a selfie with YS Jagan."

When asked if she could meet him, she replied, "I cannot walk with the crowd to try to meet. I am happy to sit here and see his padayatra pass by. I have been a die-hard supporter of YSRCP from the day the party was founded by Dr Rajasekhar Reddy's son. I shall remain so till my last breath," she said.
