YS Sharmila, the moment one hears the name, the echo that is heard from every nook and corner of the country is that she's the arrow of her brother and the YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Today she is celebrating her birthday.
Till she launched her now famous yatra, she was only known as the daughter of the late AP CM Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The person who had earlier confined herself to home, has now become a household name.
Sharmila emerged as a major force in the politics after she undertook 'Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra' on October 18, 2012 to mobilise support for YSR Congress Party.
The padayatra catapulted her to fame as she became the first woman to cover more than 3,000 kms on foot. She began her padayatra from Idupulapaya in Kadapa district and covered 2,250 villages in 116 Assembly constitutions in 14 districts in 230 days. Later too, she undertook whirlwind tour of the state many times. During the just concluded 2014 assembly elections, she was the star campaigner for the party after YS Jagan. Her incessant yatras and strong oratorical skills have silenced the critics, who sought to brand her as a one-day wonder. Her able retorts and counter-attacks helped in keeping the morale of the party workers.
She began her second leg of journey to console the people who died following the demise of Dr YSR. She completed Mahabubnagar district and instilled confidence among the bereaved family members. She is all set begin her Paramarsha Yatra in other districts.
