TG demands Rs 1 lakh cr package for R’seema

Minister for Minor Irrigation T G Venkatesh, a strong advocate of integrated Andhra Pradesh, today demanded one lakh crore rupees package for Rayalaseema in the event of the UPA Government taking a decision to divide the State.

TG Venkatesh, who is on a mission in New Delhi to meet the Congress High Command leaders to forcefully argue his point to keep the State united, today met Union Minister of State for Water Resources Vincent Paul. Later talking to media persons he said that the Rayalaseema region had remained backward and would continue to meet a step motherly attitude if the Centre takes a decision to form Telangana state. Thus, he said he wanted the Centre to announce one lakh crore rupees worth of package to the region, so that it could compete with other parts of the State.

Venkatesh is scheduled to meet another Union Minister, Vayalar Ravi, later in the day and he is likely to continue his stay in the national capital for a few more days.
